2 Year Molors Early?

At 14 months, I think that Cheeks is getting his 2 year molors. He has two HUGE mounds in the back/side area of his mouth where the molors come in. He has been fussy and cranky periodically throughout the past few days. His eating habits are reverting to less than desired. And he has been waking in the middle of the night again (well not last night, but the previous night he was up several times).

Are these signs of molors breaking through? Has anyone else's kids gotten their molors at 14 months? What were the signs?

I feel so bad for the little guy.

  1. Hey Jaime, we went through the same thing with our little guy when he was around that age and it was rough. I did a post about it and I will put the link here if you want to read it and check out the pictures. We ended up taking him to his pediatrician about it because they were so early and a real pain coming in. After about 3 weeks of total teething hell the molars finally broke through and right after that his mouth literally exploded with teeth every where. Our doctor said some kids just get get teeth in bursts and earlier than others and it is totally normal and even easier on the little guys because the teething is not drawn out over years. I found that frozen wash cloths for him to chew on were a great relief. Good luck with Cheeks!!!
